Wyze Cam Pan is an excellent camera for its versatility and overall quality.
It is probably taller than you expect, and the IR lighting is mounted below the camera. The night mode is ok, but compared to the Blink night mode, it isn’t as clear and sharp.

The picture quality is great if your WiFi is superb, and you can use the HD. Color is excellent, even in low light, and night vision (black and white) covers the whole room. Image quality is great in color and very good in night vision.

You don’t get continuous recording stored online only get clips stored online. However, you can pop a $10 32GB microSD card into this Wyze camera and get a continuous local recording (meaning it’s being recorded on the card in the device). You can view your recordings in the app. At HD quality, you get a couple of days storage on a 32GB card, more if you go SD quality.

There is an “events” tab on the main page of the app for the clips. You can also open a specific camera and tap “view playback” to see the continuous recording. When viewing on the SD card, there is a delay as it loads up the video. For example, you scroll the timeline back 8 hours then there is a 3-4 second delay as it loads the chunk of video around that time. Once it loads, you can move back and forth in it instantly.

You can zoom in with the video feed and that it doesn’t cut you off quickly when watching a live video as your outdoor Blink cameras do.
The software is decent, and it can capture video during the day. The camera has automatic panning, so it can be set to automatically rotate 359 degrees. Set it in the middle of a table and you can see a whole room. It has a snapshot and video album so you can save and export files.

The alerts are good but default it is about 50% reliable. The app allows you to adjust the sensitivity of the motion and sound detection from 0-100. Increasing the sensitivity to about 70, it is maybe 85%. The motion detection and face recognition are decent but not great. And the microphone is glitchy and doesn’t work that well. It sort of works, but not great.
The panning motor is loud, and it is noticeable when it is moving. Thus people can easily knock the camera over or just turn it around, rendering it useless. It would be better if it could be wall/ceiling mounted where people can’t tamper with it so easily.

If you are looking for a stealth panning camera, this isn’t for you. Be sure you need panning or motion before getting this versus Wyze’s cheaper versions. However, if you need a camera to capture clear motion this is an excellent deal for the price.
