Anker eufy RoboVac G30 Edge – Test
We reveal whether the eufy RoboVac G30 Edge robot vacuum cleaner could convince us in the following test overview. Numerous robotic vacuum cleaners have already been tested under real-world conditions, and we have always discovered weaknesses in terms of navigation and suction power.
Our test result for the eufy RoboVac G30 Edge robot vacuum cleaner
The eufy RoboVac G30 is surprisingly easy to set up, although it has many smart functions. If you can do without app functions, you even have the option to start it directly after charging without any further installation steps.
During the test, the eufy RoboVac G30 Edge robot vacuum impressed us with both its simple handling on the device and the even more easy-to-use app. The app can even be used to precisely steer the robot vacuum in a certain direction. Alexa voice control also worked perfectly.
The smart Anker Robot Vacuum Cleaner also navigated with great precision in our test property. The robot easily handled objects lying around as well as the transition from floor to carpet. Especially noteworthy: eufy RoboVac G30 Edge automatically increases its suction power on carpets and it even cleaned our high-pile carpet successfully, although the manufacturer discourages its use on very high or hairy carpets.
A bit of a disappointment, we think, is that you have to manually layout barrier strips with this model – despite the virtual floor plan in the app – instead of conveniently creating virtual boundaries. Moreover, a mop function would have been more desirable.
eufy RoboVac G30 Edge – design and features
The eufy RoboVac G30 Edge’s rounded look is similar to most other robot vacuums in its price range. Yet, its blue details and brownish circles on the top of the cleaner’s body clearly distinguish it as a model of eufy’s product range.
The equipment of the smart cleaning assistant, in addition to the robot itself, includes a charging station, a power adapter, two side brushes, an additional unibody filter, cleaning accessories, five cable ties for storing household cables lying around, and an instruction manual.
Features of Anker eufy RoboVac G30 Edge robot vacuum cleaner
Users of the eufy RoboVac G30 Edge can watch a virtual floor plan being created live via the app during the first cleaning cycle and then use it to check where the robot vacuum cleaner is at any time. This feature is also offered, for example, by the premium model eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid. You can also use the app to start spot cleaning to remove minor dirt or to create a cleaning schedule, among other things.
The robot vacuum uses short push messages in the app as well as additional verbal comments to inform its owners about its progress during cleaning and, for example, tells them that it is interrupting the vacuuming process to reload or that it has finished the cleaning process.
If you want to leave out sensitive floor areas, children’s Lego pieces of art or other personal items during the vacuuming process, you can mark them with the help of the boundary strips that are included in the scope of delivery.
The eufy RoboVac G30 Edge returns to the charging station when the battery is empty and automatically continues where it left off after charging.
What is compatible with eufy RoboVac G30 Edge?
Apart from the manufacturer app, the smart Anker vacuum robot eufy RoboVac G30 Edge is additionally compatible with the voice assistants Alexa and Google Assistant from Amazon and Google.
Conclusion
A good base model with good cleaning performance and practical app functionality. But it also has the minor weaknesses that are typical for all inexpensive robotic vacuum cleaners, as our pros/cons show.
